Incoming Leaders
The Free Methodist Church is committed to raising up new leaders within the church that seek to build new congregations, grow ministries that impact communities, and train the next generation of leaders serving with them.

Conference Ministerial Candidate, Incoming
Pasadena, Rose City Church
I was born into a Christian family. My mother is the daughter of a Baptist pastor and Army chaplain. My father is Catholic. Therefore, I grew up bouncing between going to mass and protestant church. I have a cousin that is very similar in age to me. When we were both 6 years old, he prayed “the prayer.” That alerted me to the fact that there was a decision to be made on my end. I had been going to AWANA for years so I already knew many of the stories of the Bible. So, at that time, my Mom walked me through the main points that were necessary for me to believe.
When I was in 6th grade, my paternal grandpa developed serious dementia and he moved in with us. He made life for our family incredibly difficult. Then after a particularly rough day, I was feeling very down. My mom told me to read the book of Job. Reading Job also showed me that there could be lessons learned from pain and that our faith could be strengthened through the process. This was one of the first times that realized that I could turn to God and the Bible for guidance and comfort. This relationship with God and the Bible continues for me to this day and has continued to grow in complexity and intimacy.
How did the Spirit guide you to your current ministry and what has God called you to do through your ministry?
